Umling La pass bike trip is one the most adventurous journey in the Himalayas, Umling La Pass is a high mountain pass located in the Ladakh region of India. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 5,798 meters (19,000 feet) above sea level in the Himalayan Mountain range. The Umling La pass is traversed by a road between Chisumle and Demchok, also called the Umling La Road, which ascends to a great height of 5,798.251 m (19,024 ft 0.73 in) in the vicinity of the pass, making it the world's highest motorable road. Dag 1 - Aankomst in Leh
Kilometers - 530
Op de eerste dag word je opgehaald van Leh Airport. Bij aankomst in Leh wordt u ingecheckt in het hotel en ontspant u de rest van de dag.
We komen 's avonds weer samen voor een briefing, waar je wordt voorgesteld aan ons bemanningslid, gevolgd door een diner.
Dag 6 - Hunder naar Turtuk
Na het verkennen van de koudste woestijn, gaat dag 6 van Ladakh Motorcycle Tour verder richting Turtuk Village. Turtuk, een klein boerendorpje gelegen tussen met sneeuw bedekte bergen in het uiterste noordwesten van Ladakh, India. Waarschijnlijk een van de mooie dorpen in de Nubra-vallei, omringd door abrikozen en gerstteelt, is een belangrijke bron van inkomsten. Het ligt naast de Shyok-rivier, Turtuk is een van de weinige plaatsen in India waar men de Balti-cultuur kan zien. Het is het laatste grote dorp waar toeristische activiteiten zijn toegestaan vóór de Line of Control met Pakistan.
Dag 7 - Turtuk naar Leh

Na het verkennen van Turtuk, beginnen we onze rit richting Leh na het oversteken van "Khardung La Pass - 's werelds hoogste berijdbare weg" Gelegen op een hoogte van 5360 meter. Khardungla is van historisch belang omdat het in de oudheid op de belangrijkste karavaanroute vanuit Kashgar Centraal-Azië ligt. Het oversteken van de Khardungla-pas is een van de belangrijkste hoogtepunten van onze Himalaya-motortour. Tegen de vroege avond bereiken we Leh en de rest van de dag kan worden gebruikt om te winkelen.
Dag 8 - Verken Leh

Vandaag rijden we om de lokale plaatsen in en rond Leh te verkennen, zoals we een bezoek brengen aan het Thiksey-klooster, het Hemis-klooster en het shey-paleis. Het wordt een excursie van een halve dag en tegen de middag zijn we terug naar Leh. De rest van de dag kun je shoppen of een wandeling maken door de straten van Ladakh.
Dag 9 - Leh naar TsoMoriri

We rijden vandaag naar het Tsomoriri-meer, dat op het hoogtepunt van 4500 meter op het Changthang-plateau van de Ladakh-regio ligt. Het is een van de afgelegen en minst onderzochte regio's in de Himalaya. Het is het grootste van de meren op grote hoogte, volledig binnen India en volledig binnen Ladakh in deze trans-Himalaya biogeografische regio. Het is ook de thuisbasis van nomaden genaamd "Changpas" terwijl we naar het dorp Karzok rijden, we zullen onderweg veel van hen zien. Na ongeveer 8 uur rijden bereiken we het dorp Karzok, de basis voor het Tsomoriri-meer.
Dag 10 - Tsomoriri naar Leh

Na het verkennen van het Changthang Plateau, beginnen we aan onze laatste dag van "Ladakh Motorcycle Tour" richting ons basiskamp Leh. We zullen vandaag een andere route nemen, dit zal het moeilijkste stuk van Ladakh Tour zijn, de weg van Karzok naar Debring is vol grind en off-road. Nadat we Debring hebben bereikt, steken we de Tanglang La Pass over op een hoogte van 5328 meter, het is de Second Worlds Highest Motorable Road. Tegen de avond bereiken we Leh. We ontmoeten elkaar weer voor een afscheidsdiner en wisselen foto's van de rondleidingen uit.
Day 7 -
Nubra valley to Pangong lake

After breakfast we will start our journey towards world famous Pangong lake at the height of 14000Ft asl, we will be taking Nubra – Shoyk valley route, the entire roads are very tricky with sudden twists and turns with multiple water crossings. We will reach Pangong lake by evening, the rest of the day you can spend time near the lake.

Day 8 -
Pangong Lake to Hanle

After breakfast, we will start riding towards Hanle. Hanle is a large historic village in the Indian union territory of Ladakh. It is the site of the 17th-century Hanle Monastery of the Drukpa Kagyu branch of Tibetan Buddhism. Hanle is located in the Hanle River valley on an old branch of the ancient Ladakh–Tibet trade route. Most of the roads will be off-road and one will enjoy the adventure in the Himalayas. By evening we will reach Hanle and stay in a Homestay in a dormitory.

Day 9 -
Hanle – Umling La Pas – Hanle

After early breakfast we will start our ride towards Umling La pass. Umling La Pass is located at a distance of 100 kilometres from Hanle; in the direction of the village of Demchok; in Changthang Valley of Ladakh region. Most of the roads for today will be completely off road with High altitude terrains. We will be riding for more than 2 hours in 15000 Ft Above sea level, we will reach Umling pass by noon, after spending some time there and we will ride back on the same route to reach Hanle. By evening we will reach Hanle and stay at a Homestay in a Dormitory.
Day 10 -
Hanle to Tsokar
Kilometers - 150
After exploring Hanle & Umling La pass, we will ride towards Tsokar.
Breakfast & Dinner included. Tsokar is located in the Changthang region of the Himalayas. Also called white lake due to the white salt content in the water deposits on its shore, it leaves visitors in awe of its beauty. The area surrounding the lake is rife with wildlife and flora, and it also makes for an important point for bird watchers, especially during migration season when several species come here to lay their eggs, including the black-necked cranes. By evening we will reach Tsokar and stay in a Homestay or Tents.

Day 11 -
Tsokar to Jispa

We will start our ride early today; we will be riding to Jispa. Jispa is a small hamlet situated in the Lahaul valley of Himachal. We will be riding on the Manali Leh highway again and crossing Sarchu to reach Jispa. It may take 10 hrs of riding. By evening we will reach Jispa & Stay in Tents.

Day 12 -
Jispa to Manali
Kilometers - 95
After breakfast, we will start our last day of the Umling La bike trip from Jispa towards Manali. We will reach Manali by 4 hrs via Atul Tunnel. Once we reach Manali we will drop off you at the Volvo Bus stand in Delhi. End of the Trip, no stay in Manali for today.

A valid driving license is compulsory for all riders.

Hotel check-in time will start after 11 am only (Early check-in is subject to availability).

Any damages to the motorcycle will be completely borne by the participant on the spot to continue the further tour.

Any sort of Drugs /Alcohol during the ride is completely prohibited and Motorcycle Escapades will have the complete right to terminate the participant from the tour without any REFUND.

After finishing the day's ride, our lead rider or mechanic will collect the bike keys from each rider, this is to ensure the bikes are maintained properly for uninterrupted service during the tour.

Breakfast and dinner will be provided as per the inclusions in the itinerary as per the set menu from the hotels, anything ordered extra has to be borne by the participant to the hotel on the spot. The availability of non-veg food completely depends on the hotel; since we are travelling in remote places, we cannot assure the availability of non-veg food every day.

All hotels mentioned in the itinerary will remain unchanged, in case there is an issue with the hotel, we will provide a similar category hotel.

Hot water is subject to availability in Sarchu, Nubra & Pangong lake or any other remote locations.

In any case, if the tour got interrupted due to weather conditions, landslides, avalanches or any political or local issue, then participants should take care of the cost of alternate accommodation, we will help in finding the alternate hotel and participants should pay upfront directly to the hotel.

Motorcycle Escapades can change or revise the sequence of the day-wise program without any prior notice or information, it may be because of unforeseen conditions during the tour.

In case of any accident or damage to the bike during the tour and if the same needs to be transported in an additional pickup truck the cost has to be borne by the participant.

Luggage size: One Rucksack & Small backpack per person is permitted. NO trolly bags/suitcase is allowed.
